The manuscript critique is a more affordable option for writers who are not able to invest in a manuscript edit, but want professional feedback on how to improve their work and bring it to market. At the end of a manuscript critique, you will have:

1. A thorough reading of your manuscript by me
2. A candid editorial letter in which I outline my recommendations on how to improve your work, plus strategic advice on the business of publishing, which is just as important as the craft of writing
3. Verbal feedback via phone for up to one hour

It takes approximately three weeks for me to turn around a manuscript critique. To reserve a spot on my calendar, I require you to sign a consultation agreement and pay the fee in full upfront.

Note: I do not edit the manuscript during a manuscript critique. If you wish to have your manuscript edited, I recommend you opt for a manuscript edit.

Manuscript Critique Fee: $750

To schedule a manuscript critique, please do the following:

"Working with Marcela Landres was amazing! Not only did she give me excellent editorial feedback, but she was motivating, inspiring, and practical too! I am a stronger writer because of this experience and have a clearer vision about where I want to go. I would recommend Marcela to any writer at any stage in their career--she is a gifted editor."--Monica Brown, award-winning author of My Name is Celia/Me llamo Celia
